Please complete the Withdrawal or cash-in form to fully cash-in any of the bonds listed below:

  • an existing Investment Control bond with or without a guaranteed option;
  • an Investment Bond, and/or
  • a Performance Bond.

Where you’ve selected the secure income option, by cancelling segments, the regular withdrawal and any guaranteed benefits will be reduced accordingly.

The taxation of life policies can be complex. You can find some general guidance on the tax issues affecting withdrawals in the notes at the end of the form above. However, we’re not authorised to give you tax advice and we strongly recommend you get professional tax advice before going ahead with cashing-in or making a withdrawal from your bond.

You can do this online on the 'Bond Summary' screen. Choose the 'Fund Switch' link on the right-hand side, where you'll be directed to the fund switch screens. Or you can complete and submit our Switch instruction form.

Depending on the version of the bond you hold, you may be able to pay an additional amount into your bond using our Additional investment form. Please contact us on our general enquiries number to find out which versions of the bond accept additional payments. If the bond version accepts additional payments the minimum amount you can pay in is £500.

To cash in your bond, you should complete and submit our Withdrawal or cash in form.

If you've chosen our Aegon secure income option, we guarantee to pay 5% income for 20 years. Additional withdrawals over and above the 5% must be taken by cashing in individual policies. This will reduce the guarantees on the bond.

Any guarantees are based on the ability of the issuing insurance company - in this case Scottish Equitable plc - to pay them. If, for example, that company no longer existed, then the guarantees it provides would be affected.

Regular withdrawals can be taken monthly, quarterly, half yearly or yearly.

If you want to set up or change the regular withdrawal details, please complete our Regular withdrawal form.
