If you don't want to switch online you can complete the Alteration of fund choice form (PDF – 200kb), if you have one of the individual or workplace pension plans listed below. You can find out the type of plan you have by checking any correspondence we've sent you.

At Aegon, we want your online journey with us to be as smooth as possible. That's why we've created this simple guide to switching funds, to help you take control of your financial future. And remember, we're here to guide you every step of the way.

Let's get started.

Log in to your account and then select the 'Make Changes' tab.

Select 'I'd like to switch funds' from the drop-down menu. Read the information below, then click 'Start request'.

Next, enter your contact details. Make sure you review the terms and conditions, and when you’re happy with these, tick the box.

Now choose the type of switch you want to make - to your existing funds only, to future contributions only, or to both.

Select the fund you want to switch from, then enter the percentage of the fund to be switched.

The example fund shown has a value of £25,000, so if you wanted to switch £2,500, you would enter 10%.

Next, search for the funds you want to switch to and click 'Add'. You can select between one and ten funds.

If you aren't sure which funds to switch to, click the eye icon next to the fund name to open up a fund factsheet.

Each fund has its own objectives, charges, risk profile and fund specific risks. Make sure you’re comfortable with your fund choice before moving on. Don't forget that the value of an investment can fall as well as rise, and isn’t guaranteed so you could get back less than you invest. You should seek financial advice if you’re unsure. If you don’t have a financial adviser, take a look at moneyadviceservice.org.uk to find one in your area.

Allocate how much you want to transfer into each fund.

In the on-screen example, two new funds are selected. So, if you wanted to transfer an equal amount into both, you would enter 50% into each box.

It’s important to check that the percentage allocation across all funds adds up to 100%, before clicking 'Next'.

All you have to do now is review your request and click 'Submit'.

What price will I get when I switch funds?

When we receive your switch instruction, we'll allocate units to your plan at the price determined at the next valuation point. For example:

  • If we receive your switch instruction before 12 noon, we'll use the bid (or fund) prices set on the next business day to carry out your switch instruction.
  • If we receive your switch instruction at or after 12 noon, we'll use the bid (or fund) prices set on the second business day to carry out your switch instruction.

Weekends and bank holidays aren’t regarded as working days and there’s no trading on these days.

For full switching rules please see our Alteration of fund choice form – (PDF 200kb). If you need more information about which fund prices apply to your plan, please contact us.
